The Lori McNeil / Elbow Beach Celebrity Tennis Classic was  established in October 2000. The objective of this event is to raise funds to assist in the development of tennis in Bermuda.

Title sponsor Elbow Beach Hotel & Resort, is set in the midst of Bermuda's South Shore, overlooking a beautiful expanse of a pink sand beach.
