In the 1980's Mandlikova appeared in eight Grand Slam finals, winning four of them. She has been described as a player who has a complete arsenal of strokes. Hana, born February 19th, 1962 in Prague, Czech Republic was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 1994. During Hana's career she captured 27 singles titles and 15 doubles titles. She was ranked in the Top Ten seven times and her highest ranking was No 3 in the world in 1984 and 1985. In 1980, Hana won the Australian Open and seven years later she captured this Grand Slam title for a second time. In 1981 Mandlikova won the French Open title and the US Open. IN 1985, during this tournament Hana defeated both Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. Hana's singles record was 567- 195 and her doubles was 253- 104. |
